How were Abijam and Asa related?
1 Kings 15:8 says Asa was Abijam's son, succeeding him on the throne. 1 Kings 15:1-2 gives Abijam's mother as Maachah daughter of Abishalom; 1 Kings 15:9-10 gives Asa's mother as Maachah daughter of Abishalom — implying the two kings share the same mother and are therefore brothers, not father and son.
