Did God commend or condemn Jehu for the killings at Jezreel?
2 Kings 9:6-8 has God commission Jehu to wipe out the house of Ahab, an instruction Jehu carries out with extreme violence at Jezreel. Hosea 1:4 has the same God announce he will avenge "the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu" — meaning he will punish Jehu's dynasty for the very killings he ordered.
Critical scholarship: Widely regarded as a genuine contradiction.
