What were David's last words?
2 Samuel 23:1-7 explicitly introduces a poetic oracle as "the last words of David," a Spirit-inspired psalm of righteous kingship. 1 Kings 2:1-9 records David's deathbed instructions to Solomon, which are largely a list of people to settle scores with — Joab, Shimei — sometimes called the "hit list."
