When did Solomon's reign begin?
1 Kings 6:1 places Solomon's fourth regnal year — when temple construction begins — 480 years after the Exodus. Paul's speech in Acts 13:17-22, combined with the regnal data from 1 Chronicles 29:26-27, produces a total of roughly 570+ years between the Exodus and Solomon's accession, contradicting the Kings figure by about 90 years.
Critical scholarship: Leans toward a genuine contradiction.
