Did God command the Israelites to make him burnt offerings?
Exodus commands burnt offerings extensively — Exodus 20:24 establishes the altar, Exodus 29 prescribes ordination sacrifices, Exodus 10:25 has Moses demanding animals for sacrifice. Jeremiah 7:22 has YHWH saying he did not command the ancestors concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices on the day he brought them out of Egypt.
Critical scholarship: Widely regarded as a genuine contradiction.
