Jeremiah 22:28-30 records Yahweh telling the prophet to "write this man childless" — Jeconiah, king of Judah, will leave no descendant on the throne of David. 1 Chronicles 3:17-18 then lists eight sons of Jeconiah, and Matthew 1:11-16 carries the Davidic line through Jeconiah down to Jesus himself.
