What current science says

Rain comes from the water cycle, not windows in the sky. Warm air makes liquid water from oceans, lakes, and plants evaporate into water vapor. As the air rises and cools, that vapor condenses into tiny droplets that form clouds. When droplets get heavy enough, gravity pulls them down as rain, snow, or hail. We can measure all of this with thermometers, satellites, and weather radar, and it matches physics perfectly—not magic openings in heaven.

What the text says

"The windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained." This happens whenever it stops raining.
