Exo 6:24 And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these [are] the families of the Korhites.
Ver. 24. And the sons of Korah.] There were of his sons, that died not, {Num 16:11} departing, as it seems, from their father’s tents, as all were counselled. {Num 16:24-26} Of them came Samuel the prophet, Heman the music master, and other the sons of Korah so oft mentioned in the titles of Psalms.

24. Koraḥ’s family. It is stated in Num_26:11 that the sons of Koraḥ did not perish with their father (Num_16:32); and Koraḥites are mentioned in Num_26:58. In much later days the Koraḥites acted as gate-keepers in the Temple (1Ch_9:19; 1Ch_26:1-19), and also, probably (cf. 2Ch_20:19; and the titles of Psalms 42, 44-49, 84, 85, 87, 88), assisted in some way in the worship of the Temple. For the names, see 1Ch_6:22-23 (where, however, Elkanah is the son of Assir, and Ebiasaph [Abiasaph] the son of Elkanah), Exo_9:19 (Ebiasaph).
