(Gen_19:3) There is no mention of any banquet in the case of Abraham"s covenant, which may be noted as another point of difference between the two transactions. A similar entertainment accompanied Jacob"s covenant with Laban; (Gen_31:54) while in the Mosaic system the sacrificial meal formed an integral part of the regularly-appointed sacrificial worship (Lev_7:15, Lev_7:31; Deu_12:7, Deu_12:17; vide Kurtz, "Sacrificial Worship," and they did eat and drink.
