However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

Is it OK to eat meat sacrificed to other gods?
1 Corinthians 8:4-8 has Paul argue that since an idol is nothing, food sacrificed to it is theologically neutral — eating it neither commends nor condemns you to God. Acts 15:28-29 has the Jerusalem Council decree, as one of a handful of "necessary things" laid on Gentile believers by the Holy Ghost, that they must abstain from meat offered to idols.
Critical scholarship: Widely regarded as a genuine contradiction.
