2 Samuel 12 narrates the birth of Solomon as the immediate replacement child after the death of Bathsheba's first son, implying Solomon is her second son. 1 Chronicles 3:5 lists four sons born to David by Bathshua/Bathsheba in Jerusalem — Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon — making Solomon her fourth, not her second.
