Is temptation desired?
James 1:2 tells believers to count it all joy when they fall into various peirasmoi — testings or temptations — because the testing of faith produces endurance. Matthew 6:13, the petition embedded in the Lord's Prayer, asks the Father not to lead us into peirasmos but to deliver us from evil.
