  • Where did John the Baptist baptize?

    Matthew 3:6 and Mark 1:5 say John baptized people 'in the Jordan' (Greek *en tō Iordanē*); Mark 1:9 specifies that Jesus was baptized 'in the Jordan.' John 1:28 says these things happened 'in Bethany beyond the Jordan' (or 'Bethabara' in the Textus Receptus).
