John 2:19-21 has Jesus straightforwardly speak this saying as a public pronouncement at the temple cleansing, and the narrator helpfully tells us he meant the temple of his body. Matthew 26:59-61 and Mark 14:57-58 report the saying being introduced at Jesus' trial only by *false witnesses* whose testimony was inadmissible because they couldn't even agree on the wording.
