Is it OK to swear?
Deuteronomy 6:13, Isaiah 65:16, and Jeremiah 4:2 and 12:16 all positively command swearing by Yahweh's name. Matthew 5:34-37 has Jesus saying "swear not at all" — no heaven, no earth, just yes-yes and no-no, and anything more "cometh of evil."
Critical scholarship: Leans toward a genuine contradiction.
