What current science says

Sound is vibration traveling through air (or other media) and it weakens rapidly with distance. Normal speech at 60 decibels becomes inaudible beyond about 100 meters in open air — and walls reduce that dramatically. There's no known mechanism in physics that allows a human brain to receive acoustic information without sound waves reaching the ear. Every controlled scientific study of claimed psychic abilities, including clairaudience, has produced negative results. Your ears are good, but they're not satellite dishes.

What the text says

This comes from 2 Kings 6:12. A prophet could reportedly hear the private words spoken by a foreign king in his own bedchamber — a claim of clairaudience, or psychic hearing at a distance.
