What current science says

Unrestricted population growth leads to famine and conflict as food, water, and space run out. Disease spreads more easily in crowded conditions, and ecosystems collapse as habitats are destroyed for more people. In nature, every species is limited by carrying capacity — the maximum population an environment can support. Humans are no exception. Responsible reproduction is about balancing the right to have children with the responsibility not to overwhelm the planet.

What the text says

"Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth." Although this would have been good advice for the mythical Noah, it is deadly advice for humankind as a whole. Overpopulation is one of our greatest problems, yet there is nothing in the bible to address it.
