Will God destroy those that intermarry?
Deuteronomy 7:3-4 bans intermarriage with the Canaanite nations on pain of God's anger destroying the offender "suddenly." Genesis 46:20 records Joseph's marriage to Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah, priest of the Egyptian sun-god at On/Heliopolis — a foreign priestess-daughter — with no divine pushback.
Critical scholarship: Genuinely disputed among scholars.
